CPA and accounting firms
IT Services for Accounting Firms
Tax season is not the time to discover the backup never worked. Secure Techies keeps CPA and accounting firms online, with client data locked down and staff unblocked.

Why this industry is different
Deadlines do not move for a crashed workstation
Accounting firms compress a year’s risk into a few brutal months. The IT plan has to assume that.
- 01
Client tax files are a target
W-2s, returns, and identity data are worth more on the dark web than most offices realize. Email and endpoint security are not optional.
- 02
Seasonal load
More staff, more VPN, more printers, more “can you get me into Drake/Lacerte/UltraTax.” Capacity has to be ready in January, not March.
- 03
Portal and file-share sprawl
Client data lives in Microsoft 365, a portal, and someone’s desktop. We collapse that into a system you can actually control.

What is in the plan
Everything we do for CPA firms
Busy season is a load test. We run this year-round so January is not a surprise.
Busy season
- Help desk through tax seasonAfter-hours tickets when the software will not print. Seasonal hires onboarded before January.
- Tax software environmentWindows, licenses, printers, and scanners. Application support stays with Drake, Lacerte, or UltraTax.
- Capacity planningVPN, licenses, and workstations sized for the rush — not added in March.
Client files
- Client-file securityMFA, least privilege, and email filtering aimed at W-2 phishing.
- Microsoft 365Mail, sharing, and a portal that is not a desktop folder named FINAL_v7.
- Backups with a pre-season restore testWe test before January, not after a failure.
People and hardware
- Seasonal offboardingSeasonal staff lose access when the season ends.
- On-site hardwareThe scanner farm and the one printer everyone needs on April 14.

If the tax software cannot talk to the printer in April, the whole firm hears about it.

CPA and accounting firm IT support
Secure Techies provides IT services for accounting firms that cannot lose a day in March. From Canoga Park we run help desk, security, and backups for CPA practices and bookkeeping groups across Southern California.
The work looks like other professional services — until busy season. Then every shared login, flaky VPN, and untested backup becomes a filing problem. We plan for that cycle on purpose: restore tests, extra licenses, and seasonal accounts before January.
Who we work with
CPA firms and accounting practices, typically 8 to 60 people, that already know last tax season was held together with overtime and hope. Firms that also practice law often start with our law firm IT work. Wealth-management shops are a better fit for financial services IT.
What is in the plan
- Help desk through filing season, including after-hours when the software will not print
- Windows, printers, and scanners around Drake, Lacerte, UltraTax, or QuickBooks — application support stays with the vendor
- MFA, least privilege, and email filtering aimed at W-2 phishing
- Microsoft 365 that is not a desktop folder named FINAL_v7
- A restore test before January
- Seasonal staff onboarded in December and offboarded when the season ends
- On-site for the scanner farm and the printer everyone needs on April 14
We help with the technical controls behind IRS Publication 4557 and similar questionnaires. Formal SOC 2 attestation is an auditor’s job.

Why this team
Built for professional services, not a call center
Accounting sits next to legal in how we staff it: deadline culture, confidential files, and partners who want a person, not a queue.
Busy-season planning
We schedule upgrades and risky changes outside peak filing windows.
Same stack as law firms
Microsoft 365, MFA, backups, help desk. The difference is tax applications and seasonal staff.
Local hardware support
On-site for workstations, scanners, and the one printer everyone needs on April 14.
Clear monthly cost
Routine tickets inside the plan. Projects quoted separately.
